What a year 2017 has shaped up to be, each year we get more and more excited with the making of this wine especially when you see this finished wine in bottle.
This wine is all about Sangiovese. Excellent flavour development at low Be’ lead to the decision to pick the whole vineyard in one day. As is now the practice, all the pressed juice is farmed off to old French oak in various sizes (225L, 500L 2000L & 2800L) for ‘wild yeast’ fermentation with a lot of lees work for texture. Lip smacking natural acidity adds to the clean and very crisp palate.
Although our first thoughts are always about flavour before appearance the 2017 is striking. Very attractive cranberry in colour, the wine is packed full of subtle red fruits, red cherries, crab apple & dried herb aromatics, delivering a textured complete wine that is totally dry yet has satisfying intensity of flavor and freshness.
